The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) goes into effect on January 1, 2020. Before then, covered businesses need to review and update their privacy notices as well as other CCPA-required disclosures, processes, and documentation.

While the focus has largely been on the relationship between businesses and consumers, unless the CCPA is amended prior to its effective date, the employer/employee relationship is also implicated. Our Privacy and Data Security Team shares six things employers need to know about how the CCPA may impact their business.
